Christian Challenge Thursdays

...every Thursday

7:00PM at the Peak (1930 SW Gage)

The Challenge Band will lead our worship!  The content will relate to real life at college and beyond.  A great place to find friends.  Enjoy pool, ping pong, fooseball, Wii, etc... (And different churches and groups provide a free meal after every meeting!)

T-Groups

A Life Transformation Group (T-Group) is a simple way to release the most essential elements of a vital spiritual walk to people who need Jesus to change their lives from the inside out. It fosters transformation at the heart level and empowers believers at any spiritual level to accomplish the radical work of reproducing spiritual disciples who can in turn reproduce others. Authentic community and radical obedience to Jesus provides the right soil for the beginning of transformation.

What does it look like?

Group of 3:

You and a few friends meeting once a week to talk about Jesus and experience Him together, while considering how to impact the world around you.

One hour:

Meet for about one hour each week.

Same gender:

This allows for more authenticity.

Fun:

Meet with people you enjoy.

No leader:

You all learn together as equals.

Open Discussion at the Library

March 31

4:00PM - 5:20PM in the iREAD Lounge on the Main Level

Topic (...or starting point):  Can science answer everything?

Purpose:  To share ideas, listen to different opinions, and interact with (and maybe build relational bridges with) others that might have a completely different world view.

Joining us will be Dr. Brian Thomas, Professor of Astronomy and Physics

He has invited students from the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics clubs to participate as well.

Come discuss and interact, or just listen and enjoy.

Colossians 4:5-6
5Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

1 Peter 3:15
15but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

Into the Streets for Haiti

Preparing (285,120) meals for the people of Haiti

May 2nd        10AM - 8PM

Washburn Rec Center

Christian Challenge and LinC are sponsoring a meal packaging event - partnering with Numana and the Salvation Army - for the people of Haiti. This is a Topeka wide event, and will give us an opportunity to serve alongside people from all over the community.

As one of the sponsoring groups, we have the primary opportunity and responsibility to prepare for the event day and help keep things running on that day.

Here is a great video:...

We will give more info at the Thursday meetings, and let you know how you can help make it happen!!

...and yes, the goal is one shipping crate which holds exactly 285,120 meals :)
